The 68 Torino was the car which led to Fords participation in the "Muscle Car" market. The GT came with a variety of engines and was a spacious comfortable grand tourer. The attractive styling can be seen as the predecessor of the fast back Mach 1 and Boss Mustangs. Sales of the 68 Torino were very small by Detroit standards being less than 70 000 units but a dynasty had been born.
