The proto-type XJ12 was given to Silverstone Race Circuit by Jaguar. The car was equipped with Wolf racing wheels and fire fighting equipment by Chubb Fire. Driven by "Silverstone Sid" the car followed the racing cars on the first lap in case of accidents.
