The Barnato Hassan Special was one of the most attractive Brooklands racing cars. Designed by Walter Hassan for Woolf Barnato it was based around an 8 Lt 6 cylinder Bentley Engine. Oliver Bertram drove the car from 1935 to 1938 breaking the Brooklands lap record at 142.6 MPH in August 1935 while in the 1938 Dunlop Jubilee meeting a speed of 143.11 MPH was achieve very close to the absolute record set by Cobb in the Napier Railton of 143.44 MPH. A very special and historic car which was driven at the Brooklands re-union in the year 2000.
