The Austin 7 on which the Ulster was based started life in 1922 as Herbert Austin's car for the masses. In 1928 the racing Super Sport or Ulster was born. This very attractive and quick little racing car found its greatest success whilst racing for the Austin team in their bright orange livery. The 1930 500 mile race at Brooklands being won by S.C.H Davis "Sammy" and the Earl of March in car NO. 1. To show this was no fluke the car returned to the circuit 11 days later and Captured Class-H records from 50Ks to 12 hours.
